Thap Lamu pier is the main pier for boats going to the Similan Islands. It is not the only pier near Khao Lak but it is the one that most liveaboard and snorkeling speedboats to the Similan Islands depart from. Thap Lamu is in the Thai Mueang district of Phang Nga province. The location is about 15 minutes drive south of Khao Lak, about 70 minutes drive north of Phuket airport, about 2 hours drive north of Patong beach. From Krabi it’s 3-4 hours drive.
